Hailing from Pedro Winter’s cool as fuck Ed Banger label, Uffie specialises in off kilter electronic hip hop rhythms - an updated Soulsonic Force if you will, approaching sounds with techno-house spirit and fucking with breaks like a broken beat Chicken Lips. All of which is par for the Banger course.
‘Pop the Glock’ is in part sweet sexual pleading and in part posturing rap, backed by mirrored vocoda lyrics and a beat that frays at the edges of disintigration. All of which is rather modest compared with SebastiAn’s trademark fucked up remix and the real song of the 12” - ‘Ready to Uff’. Available in two versions, one claims to be a radio version, but if anything the “I’m ready to fuck” hookline is more distinct than on the full version.
