A firm Music Towers favourite, and the band behind 2004‘s club hit ‘Kinda New’, Spektrum follow their debut LP with the first salvo from LP number 2, and very kicking it is too. Kinda like a mule.

As ever it’s difficult to get precisely to what Lola’s on about, but it’s somewhere between a moral story akin to The Pardoner’s Tale and a bondage sex ritual - delivered with controlled venomous spit of a cat fight between Ertha Kitt and Grace Jones.

Production wise Gabriel’s on form, with a deliciously close-up bass intro and fucked-up dance rhythms. Plus there’s a slew of remixes on hand from the Non Stop crew to encourage greater dance floor horseplay. Nasty.

Four and a half out of five.
