Pull Tiger Tail have pulled off pretty much the perfect single at the third time of asking.
Without wanting to get all muso on your asses “Let’s Lightning” is just brilliantly structured. There’s the smacked drums and teasing guitar intro which builds into, hey (!), a proper sing-a-long chorus.
Then singer Marcus ups the ante again launching into a tumultuous headspin of key changes, tempo tampering and story-telling lyrics to keep us listeners hooked until the drums fall again and uh-oh “It’s over now.”
Pull Tiger Tail have been knocking about with the Klaxons and reckon they invented new rave but “Let’s Lightning” has more in common with Maximo, We are Scientists and Bloc Party.
That’s right, you can dance to it – but don’t have to worry if you’re making all the right moves.
Verdict: Go get ‘em Tiger….
