Sick Couple is very refreshing. A smooth sliding voice that although draws on the Bjork’s or Elysian Fields of this world is sexier and more tactile like a velvet boiled egg. Minimal but upbeat electro sounds in the single, not much defines the two mixes but a dance beat that kicks in earlier on the B-side that wouldn’t be out of place in some garage tune.
It sounds bloody excellent on a big sound system. In the same way the Tunng heavy bass really runs wild, or that Mogwai Remix did. Also every time this track has been played out by Beef Warehouse someone comes up and asks who it is and where they can buy it. There is no more certification of great track then this.
