Ignorant to
Mark Ronson and what he does, I took the blank looking promo CD and put it as a last minute grab amongst the DJ Box for last Fridays Beef Warehouse gig.
Down there looking around the tunes for something I hadn’t heard a million times. Listened to the first 30 seconds. Figured in lazy DJ mode. Yes this will do the room is kind of empty anyway.
I have shot my load too early (If you excuse the expression). This weird track kicks in. Andy says … ‘ahhh a bit of remixed Britney’.
Shamed I didn't even. Toxic by Britney Spears is a smashing track. On new years managed to get some wonky haired art school types talking about the merits of Britney while high on … whatever they were high on. And this is another arguably better version.
Laid back, more quirky, more Waits-ish. And seems to have Old Dirty Bastard in it - isn’t he dead?. Fantastic cover with a Dead MC in it 5/5
Although to be fair the original Toxic is just as good.
