In the tradition of murdering some perfectly good songs in pursuit of radio play this is South London’s Johnny Panic doing a cover of Psycadelic track ‘Happy Together’ by The Turtles. Following in the wake of Muse doing Nina Simone, Alien Ant Farm with Smooth Criminal, and the entire point of Me First & the Gimmie Gimmies.
This is a a straight through Rockier version of 'Happy Together' in a naff manner. In fact that is it’s only charm that it is really naff to the point of being worth having in the record collection. So when your doing a Punk Set on the Saturday night of Reading Festival (you going to be there?) , it might go down well with the Lock up Stage kids.
The B-Side is their track ‘I live for’ which is equally naff but without the luxury of being a good song.
So as a single a bit rubbish really but however in the true spirit of the download age where space is not an issue. And the fact that it is pure Cheese middle of the road rock cover has won it through.
Do own or not to own that is the Question, doing my usual score out of 2.
1 means delete, 2 means keep.
