Gomma, and label owners Munk, are the as yet unsung heroes of Germany’s renaissance as purveyors of cool dance music. Residing in Munich, the long overlooked home of German electronic music, like fellow Munchkins Compost, Gomma specialise in quality and eschew easy genre classification.
This 12” has been plucked to promo the label’s forthcoming compilation, ‘Gommagang 3’, being released in early February, and features tracks from new boy Parker Frisby and older Gomma hand Hiltmeyer.
Frisby, aka Berlin’s Oliver Koletzki, unleashes classic Gomma organic bass driven fucked up disco, which splutters and funks like an dysfunctional dancing droid. Hiltmeyer Inc’s ‘Final Ahh’ is featured in its ‘Nicky Remix’ form and sticks to the Hiltmeyer layered Italo-disco formulae.
We suspect the compilation won’t be bad either.
