Another record by all rights I should wipe the muck from my record bag on. It is the American whine that is prolific it so many songs. With this track from My Awsome Compilation I can’t help but love it like Billy Joel's Zanzibar. Don’t know whether it is the bold military drumming, the anglo-american whine that has hit it just right. The bright bold sound of the production. The cheap and cheerful graphics of the CD. Or the cynical lyric lines hidden within “the TV is your saviour, Awake from your nightmare”.
Reminds me of Green Days ‘When I Come Around’ being played on TOTP. It reminds me of Billy Bragg playing at an Anti-League Rally in the 90’s. A distinctly nostalgic feel.
