Not an obvious Alter Ego track by any means, and their revision of the loungey ‘Gate 23 (Lost on Arrival)’ meanders around a burbling synth bass and plodding kick drum, tinkering at the edges of time and defiantly aiming at cerebral rather than dance floor impact.
All of which means it’s interesting but not essential - until we get to Isolee reworking.
Anything by Isloee is always alluring of course and his remix takes the track on a spanking electro outing that takes the plaintive refrain and moulds it into sharp sheet metal.
Finally Matt John’s remix of previous single ‘Daktari’ has a cheeky double beat on the kick drum that will have nicely anarchic effect when thrown into otherwise cleanly mixed DJ sets.
