Saw this guy called the Knights of the Nines Times table the other night, relunctantly gave the Boogaloo quiz a miss and headed over to the Luminaire to see Andy Huxley (former 80's matchbox's) new band the Imbeciles.
As we are paying our hard earnt pennies I hear a death metal S Club 7 Remix booming out. Walking into the lush Time Out Award winning venue, there is one man almost a dandy with 3 idle worshippers in front of him. Some bendy blond is walking on all fours on her back. The Dandy is flicking buttons faster then ten year old at the pier.
A four to the floor driving beat and this arrogant looking comedy dandy, flicking between tracks and mixing them up with nimble fingers. From Opera to classic TV theme tunes all given the Nine times table treatment. Must of heard the best part of a hundred tracks in fifteen minutes all almost seeminglessly put together looped cut up, mashed and delivered up in a frantic mammoth remix for the people in the audience. It was hard not to dance, impossible not to smile and irresitable not to want to see it again.
Like twentytwo many DJ's in one man. I am not sure if it is Night of the Nine Times Table or Knights of the Nine Times Table, either one works for me
