Magic Numbers 250

What an opportunity: The Magic Numbers were playing the Kentish Town Forum before they even had an album out, and here they are in the local. Now, I have never been too bothered about these cheery lot – walked passed them at Glastonbury & Latitude and their infectious pop never quite snagged me.

Tonight I am snagged hook, line, and sinker. The Magic Numbers rock! Why did I think they were from Virginia? These are Ealing lads and lasses - homegrown talent and they are utterly talented. Michele Stodart absolutely rocks on bass. I also want her Jaguar bass - I didn’t realise that they made them. Google tells me they are only £600.

Romeo looks so happy – the band looks so happy. They are launching their 'Undecided' EP tonight. They tracks from it sound great. Magic Numbers are a band with old school sentiments. They don’t feel managed or twisted by record company execs. Utterley perfect guitar pop fuzzing at the bung with rock sentiments.

Romeo's guitar playing is very delicate; his hands are like spiders. Michele’s bass lines are really driving the songs and the audience is whooping and lapping it up. They should do a residency here - it would be brilliant.
