DJ’s are not Rockstars
Princess Superstar and Alexander Technique at Maximizor club
Radost FX, Praha

In Praha, in the rain, looking for the venue. Ladies get in free before 11. That’s us sorted then. Down into the inventively decorated venue and enjoying the Gin and Tonics.

DJ's are not Rockstars are originally billed for 1 o’clock. That comes comes and goes and notices go up for 2:30am. An hour and a half late, only a break of rubbish cocktails across the road keeps us hanging around. Glad we did.

The little princess red riding hood comes on stage with her pintsize DJ buddy.

She invites us to get on stage as long as we are going to get naked. Fortunately the motley crew that does. Doesn’t take all of her requests too seriously. All night long winds this deathly skinny tall black guy in a sparkly ‘would be tight on anyone else’ tracksuit. The hoody pulled tight round his going-on-50 face. It is all very vice magazine here in Friday night Praha. Joining him is a typical Euro tart groin winding ‘been practicing’ pole dancer type and a really drunk chick that looks like Brian Ferry.

DJ’s are not Rockstars are turning out a lot of electro in fact it is all electro,  almost gone are the Too Many DJ highlights of running into some classic tunes.  The Doors and Salt and Pepper was our lot – so where are the feel good tunes? And the rest of the audience starts to wonder the same.

At 3:28 Princess Superstar takes the Mic up and delivers us a rendition of Kelis’ Milkshake over what I think is Justice, might be Vitalic can’t tell anymore. She is excellent vocalist and we only get a track or two before drifting back into bleep.

As the clock ticks towards 4am the audience has almost emptied out. The speakers are just banging out complicated bleeps and banging beats. We need encouragement at this time in the morning. Despite this oversight and descend into esoteric electro Princess Superstar and Alexander Technique have delivered a splendid evening.
