Damn. Hate to say it after 2002's Mind Elevation album, but In a Space Outta Sound is a bit of a dud. Mind Elevation had some excellent tracks (such as '70s 80s' and 'Know My Name') which are real funky numbers. In A Space Outta Sound has few such nuggets.
Mind Elevation might have been a bit poptastic for some, but it was good stuff - not a million miles away from Groove Armada if you like that kind of thing. This album is inoffensive background music at best. There are a couple of better tracks: 'The Sweetest', for one has a bit more funk about it and 'Chime Out' is really catchy, albeit only 1 minutes worth.
There's not much else to get you grooving on this album. Fingers crossed there are some decent remixes in the pipeline, otherwise the only other place you'll be listening to this is in trendy bars once they've exhausted their supply of more fashionable tunes.
