Frank Turner 250

The first long player from the Ex-Million Dead singer Frank Turner. They jacked in the Metal band and Frank decided to put the reins on the screaming guitars. And let the lyrics shine through.

Decidedly Billy Bragg one man against the world. The good is lovely lyrical lines and a stripped down album, mostly voice guitar and skiffly beats. Nice and clear so you can hear the words.

Oh, but this is also the bad. Who says we are a generation without cause? Anyone that might of heard this album. They say you should sing what you know about: if this is the case here. The word ‘I’ is on almost every line is this middle-England ‘feel sorry for self’ EMO with any of the hardcore.

What happened to the seeming fact we are in End of Days, lunatics are running the asylum and we are in a country at war with people on dubious premise? Is none of this happening? Aren’t the sea’s promising to raise your fucking girlfriend and your mobile phone into the Atlantic? Somehow Million Dead is more relevant.

Saw Frank earlier this year and we had an interview on MT. And his lines and guitar is very good. But upon listening to this album for a couple of days, I personally don’t give a monkeys if some girl wants a cup of tea because her trust fund is growing low. Might appeal to anyone with their head in the sand.

Once we were Anarchists. Oh get over it.
Pah!
