First track of this album is also the single “ Barefoot Dancing”. There are shades of Jeff Buckley here, and that’s OK in my book, as the album also exposes some nods to Puressence/ Radiohead/ Led Zep/ Screaming Trees- there is a lot to like.
Structurally these guys sound like a tight outfit, there’s some real variance in their tracks – some really hit the money such as “Sitting by the river” or “Steal away”
Joe Taylor (lead vocals) really makes some of these songs stand out, with a voice that has enough roar when needed (“Days Passing away”) to being filled with a richness and warmth (Market Streets) that is all too rare in a lot of new bands.
So what am I saying here? Is it worth buying? If your into any of the above mentioned bands then you would be crazy not to! Blackbud could be big- watch out for them!
