So apparently this is this guy’s third album, and I hear the opening track ‘ Never be the same’ and I’m thinking I've got to buy the other two albums! Opening track is like the Cocteau Twins and a nod to My Bloody Valentine. Track two sounds like Dave Gahan on guest vocals but there were no sleeve-notes on my promo copy so I’ve no idea if it is him.
There are nods to Numan, Air, Kraftwerk, Moby, and Goldfrapp etc. But what I love is the emotion these tracks evoke, if synths became human – they would sound like this. Just delicious stuff for the summer nights. I’m off to buy the other two albums! One of the best I’ve heard for a while.
