Jump from turn of the century hipster Mowax over to Americana label Cooking Vinyl this Londoners South new record. This album feels very northern to me, an unparticular Manchester sound somehow. Quite a dreamy affair sometimes folktronica some tracks falling the way of indie. Why is Lemar being advertised on my website? Maybe he will go away. His bloody face: try refreshing : HMV that is better. Focus David: Findin most of this album is a bit forgettable, as is my rubbish review of it. Just listened to it 4 times and picked out these highlights.

Habit of a Lifetime – Youthful happy guitar picked track cycling the along parkway the sun beaming through the tree’s. A nice syncopated break. Download this one.

Speed Up/Slow down – Does what it says on the tin, I am a sucker for gimmicks and the track slowing down is enough to give me a half lob.

Bizzare Love Triangle – Cute Drum machine beat kicks it off, the first one that you program into your Korg ES-1 then whip out some ridiculous keyboard that was bought in a charity store and play along. The rest of the band look at you like they want to kick your head in. The real keyboard player saves you a beating and makes it sounds all professional. Suddenly squidgy noises are pumping out the PA and this dumb beat is a cool song.

Also the driving bass on opening track Shallow are great. Like Kid:Coda though, what is this trend of putting the vocals so low in the mix no one has an idea what the songs are about.
