If you didn't already know, Giles Peterson's Worldwide Music Festival is a globetrotting music festival, that in 2007 saw events in Shanghai and the South of France at Sete. For 2008, it is to expand to a three-night extravaganza in Singapore over the weekend of Friday 16 to Sunday 18 May, and another three-nighter down at Thursday 3 to Saturday 5 July in Sete.
This year they have teamed up with Indiestore to discover some new talent. Open to anybody anywhere, the Worldwide Talent Search's purpose is to discover original and ground-breaking artists.The campaign encourages entrants to upload their music via www.worldwidefestival.com, and its partner Indiestore, by 14 May 2008, where it will be rated online by the public. A shortlist of the top 20 most highly-rated bands will be presented to a panel of top music industry experts led by Gilles Peterson. The winning act will perform live alongside artists like Cinematic Orchestra, Sebastien Tellier, Breakestra, Pascal Comelade, Henrik Schwarz, Benga, Laurent Garnier, Gilles Peterson and many more… at the Worldwide Festival's three-dayer in Sete.
