Well, the date has been sent: October 31. That's when Universal have decided to close V2 Records UK office, after acquiring the former indie label back in August for a cool £7 million. A handful of key staff will be transferred over to the major, but it looks like a lot of people further down the ladder will be out on their ear.

It's as of yet unclear what will happen to all of V2 Records roster of acts - I'm sure Universal will want to keep on to the big hitters, like current album chart toppers Stereophonics, but the fate of the smaller bands at the label is still a mystery.
