So we were just checking our wellies this morning, when a very depressed-sounding lady called Sophie comes on the radio to make an announcement about the Sunrise Festival. She says something along the lines of "We fell victim to flash floods over night and Police and Avon council have called it off, we have local farmers trying to drag the cars out of the mud at the moment".

20,000 people were expected to head up to Avon this weekend to Sunrise, one of the rising stars in the festival season. In what would've been the the festival's third year, which hass often been compared to Glastonbury's early years (aren't they all these days?) it has claim to another key Glasto traits... Mother Nature's pissy temper about hippies. Which in this case particularly cruel, as Sunrise Festival is considered the greenest of the festival bunch.

So according to Sophie-off-the-radio, and an article in The Times, the festival is called off. Although the official website is pretty vague. Think they should sort that one out maybe?
