Some of us still listen and love radio very dearly. You can download, fileshare, MySpace, podcast, and Last.fm all you want, but there’s something still strangely comforting about discovering new music through the radio. It’s how the legacy of John Peel manifests at Music Towers.

Still, last night the nominations for this year’s Sony Radio Academy Awards were announced. Forgive the cut’n’pasting, but this is just a selection of the more music-centric of the 31 categories on offer. The results are set to be announced at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, choice venue for swanking award ceremonies, on Monday 12 May.
