Why bother writing lots of new stories about various additions to festivals, when you can cover a job-lot in one go? The Rizla Arena is going to be at three UK festivals this summer – Rockness (June 6-8), The Big Chill (August 1-3) and Bestival (September 5-7), as well as some club nights up and down and all around the UK along the way.
Making up the quartet of record-spinners that make up the “Rizla Invisible Players” (their phrase, not ours) are Annie Nightingale, Kid Acne, Justin Robertson and Greg Wilson. To be honest, any excuse to experience Annie Nightingale DJ live is probably worth it, and Kid Acne’s solo records last year (especially his ‘Worst Luck’ EP that stayed on the stereo for an age) were top notch stuff. And they’re promising “no prepared set lists” and claim that the sound could “vary from Dub, Electrofunk, Balearic, Hip Hop, Breakbeat to Northern Soil and Acid House”.
