A large portion of the site on which the Carling Weekend: Reading Festival takes place on is set to go on the market after this year's event.

At present, Mean Fiddler rents the land from Caledonia Investments. But the landowners are set to put half of the 125-acre site on sale. Which may of course mean that one of the flagship festivals of the UK has to move sites.

Melvin Benn of Mean Fiddler has stated it is their intention to buy the land to secure the future, but it is expected to attract bids of up to £5 million, which may see Mean Fiddler having to rent the land from two separate entitities. Whether or not this sale will drastically affect ticket sales is yet to be mad clear.
