The internet is buzzing with the launch of www.WuChess.com, the brand spanking new website from RZA, producer and lynchpin of the Wu Tang Clan. It can't have faced much opposition in its claim to be "the world's first online chess and hip-hop community". Subscribers will get to play online chess with each other in a hip-hop environment. Yes, I can't believe I am typing this either.
The website has a yearly fee of $48 per player, with some of the profits being donated to the Hip Hop Chess Federation Scholarship Fund. Users are promised music downloads, as well as the chance to watch exhibition matches featuring RZA, and the chance to play against a "mystery celebrity player"
