On Tuesday night (that's March 18 for all you reading this after the fact...) at 7:30pm, that Zane Lowe* fella gets to play 'Machine Gun', the first single from Portishead's new album 'Third'. They are simultaneously releasing it for download through www.portishead.co.uk.

I feel like I have to announce this as a tribute to the series of one night stands that Portishead soundtracked in the 90's. I am not sure they will be the same aphrodisiac that they once were. But maybe I can tempt the postman in for a quicky and give his 'Machine Gun' a whirl.

*Zane Lowe : Music Towers used to like Zane Lowe - he would get on the old 134 bus, even when he had every right to be rinsing the MTV/BBC Adison Lee account. Then he suddenly was talking about the 'Amazing' performance of The Killers at Glastonbury - now we were at The Killers' Glastonbury performance and it was far from amazing. In fact it was totally pants, even for fans of The Killers. A real squib of a show from Worthy Farm. So what show was he banging on about then? Or does he just talk fluffly crap like most of the Radio 1 presenters?**

**Except for Colin Murray (and maybe Huw Stephens) -  Music Towers digs him. He is ace and is invited to DJ with us (Beef Warehouse) at Leeds Festival this year***. Beef Warehouse were playing at the Portishead-curated ATP festival both times they were performing at Minehead - and didn't see them once.

***Not good news telling is it? To just keep refering stories to your own meagre projects is it?
