Neil Tennant, frontman of avante-garde experimentalists, the Pet Shop Boys, has been talking up the plans for their next musical experiment.

It won’t be the first time the band has undertook a different method of producing music. Back in 2004, they composed an alternative soundtrack for the 1925 film “Battleship Potemkin”, and performed it live in Trafalgar Square.

The singer also confirmed that when the band goes into the studio next week, it will be the first time they have written new material in over two years. Tennant, a fan of both usual hats as well as Russian battleships, also hinted at an immenent announcement regarding tour dates.
