Mike Oldfield not happy with EMI

Mike Oldfield is furious over his record company’s decision to give away a copy of his decisive work, 'Tubular Bells' . EMI gave away a full copy of the 1973 album, with last weekend's copy of the Daily Mail of all things, and failed to consult the artist in the process.
Speaking to Radio 4’s Front Row, Oldfield said: "Eventually after 2 days EMI took our call about it," going on to say that he felt it "devalued the album," and felt like EMI had "borrowed a belonging and ruined it".
The release of 'Tubular Bells' was the pivotal point for the Virgin media empire, and after featuring on 'The Exorcist' soundtrack, became a massive hit worldwide, selling almost 2.5 million copies in the UK – which is coincidentally the amount of records that the Daily Mail gave away.
