In continuation of their fine tradition of chosing genuinely interesting figures as curators, this year's Meltdown Festival at London's Southbank Centre has announced at Massive Attack are to curate the festival this year.

They follow in the steps of John Peel, Jarvis Cocker, Lee Scratch Perry, Morrissey, Patti Smith and many others in taking control over what's happening this year, the 15th anniversary of the event. Considering Massive Attack's already-excellent record when it comes to collaboration (see: Tricky, Portishead, Liz Fraser, Sinead O’Connor, Mos Def...), we can expect something pretty special.

This year's Meltdown takes place all across the Southbank Centre from Saturday 14 June to Sunday 22 June. Further acts are due to be announced shortly.
