Music Towers was somewhat concerned a few weeks ago, when we heard that Brent Hinds, guitarist and vocalist with crushing riffmeisters, Mastodon, had been taken to hospital following the MTV Video Music Awards, suffering from what were described at the time as "serious head injuries".

Today it has emerged that the bearded six-stringer allegedly took off his shirt in the parking lot of a hotel, and then proceeded to hit System Of A Down bassist, Shavo Odadjian, and a musician friend of Odadjian, one William Hudson, with it. Hinds was allegedly told to "relax" by the bassist, only for things to get uglier.

It was then that Hinds was punched several times by Odadjian and Hudson. A friend of the drunken guitarist then came to his aid, protesting that he was "just drunk".

So far, no charges have been brought by either party. Silly, silly boys.
