Sometime-actress, sometime-r'n'b star Jennifer Lopez has continued to fight the publication of a warts'n'all book by her first husband, Ojani Noa. For the record, he was ages before even P. Diddy. Lopez has successfully had an LA court rule that the disagreement over the scandalous book will be held in private arbitration, rather than in an open court, where the juicy gossip lumps that Lopez is trying to repress would almost certainly be aired regardless.

Jenny From The Block isn't the only one caught up in legal issues right now. Following a fatal car crash (for the other driver involved) at the end of last year, US singer Brandy looks like she might be facing charges of Vehicular Manslaughter - a charge that could carry a $1000 fine and a year in jail.

Weirdest of all though, is that of opera stat Kiri Te Kanawa, who is being sued by Leading Edge Events for pulling out of two joint-headline shows in Australia with local hero John Farnham. If you somehow mixed the hit-every-bloody-decade record of Cliff Richard, the laying-on-the-sexiness-even-now schtick of Tom Jones, and dumped the whole resulting creature into Australia, you'd get John Farnham.

Her reasoning? Fear that women would throw their underwear on stage when both she and Farnham performed together. Kanawa is also sueing her then-manager for getting her the booking in the first place.
