Kids can hear sounds that adults can't

In an interesting peice in the Financial Times today the writer Ludovic Hunter-Tilney explores the difference in hearing between adults and children. Children have a lot more sensitive ears and can pick up a stand by TV at a hundred yards. Meanwhile the constant failure of modern life and pension meetings renders the average adult as deaf as they are dissatisfied with the daily commute.
He claims that this difference in hearing might have a profound affect on the top 40 over the years. Calvin Harris' growing club hit 'Acceptable in the 80's' Is set to make full advantage of the more youthful ear with high pitch vocals and synth tickling teenagers ear drums.
Actually reading the rest of the article there is bugger all evidence or science in it.
