Jet hiatus; Blood Brothers split?
Wednesday, October 24, 2007
Why couldn't these respect stories about bands going on hiatus and splitting up be reversed?
First off, Aussie-bore rockers Jet have announced a hiatus. For how long? They won't say. But on a rambling MySpace blog, drummer Chris Cester detailed what they're all going to be doing in their time off from the world's most pointless retro-sounding guitar band. Bless.
In slightly worse news, rumour has it that Seattle art-punks The Blood Brothers may have split up, because of internal conflicts within the band. Well, actually according to Justin Pearson, vocalist for The Locust and owner of Three One G Records, which is The Blood Brothers current label, "The Blood Brothers split up. Mark [Gajadhar, frontman] hates the band". Which doesn't exactly bode well.
UPDATE: Blood Brothers management have made an announcement, which seems to at least try to quash talk of splits, although it's a long way short of a complete refutal: "[Blood Brothers] are taking a break currently for the rest of the year and will make any final decisions or announcements next year." So now you know.
