Chris Cowey a former Top of the Pops executive producer is developing a big budget music programme.  Quite rightly dispairing at the state of music on television Cowey was said.

"Music television has become one of those things that it's easy to make badly. I want to do for music television what the Premier League did for football,"

Going on to comment on the BBC's recent effort
"Top of the Pops seems to have been abandoned. Maybe it has got too much baggage. They seem determined to treat music as an offshoot of light entertainment rather than a genre in its own right."

In talks with the Official Charts company and possibly ITV the programme plans on launching a new chart.
