I can't believe that over the weekend nobody mentioned Isaac Hayes passed away. The man was a total legend! Shame to see him move on to another world, even if it might be Ron Hubbard's one.
Hayes was the backbone of the Stax record label, writer of that classic B-move track Shaft, and the best character in South Park: Chef. Music Towers counts ourselves fortunate that we saw Isaac Hayes a few times at Reading Festival and at the Jazz Cafe.
He died on August 10th (last sunday). Hayes' wife found him on the floor near a treadmill inside his home located just east of Memphis, Tennessee. He was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, where he was pronounced dead at 2:08pm, at the age of 65.
