Gut have become the second significant indie label to quit the Association of Independent Music, after Ministry of Sound, following the trade body's support for the IMPALA endorsement of the proposed EMI/Warner merge.

AIM - who share board members with IMPALA -have called an emergency meeting in the wake of this resignations. Ministry boss, Lohan Presencer, has made noises about forming a new trade body entirely to better serve the indie sector.

Martin Goldschmidt of Cooking Vinyl, one of the still loyal-members of AIM has warned though of the dangers if the indie sector is not able to present a united front in the face of major label bullying.
