Glastonbury Ticket Deadline: Extended
Wednesday, February 28, 2007
On the final day of registrations, Glastonbury Festival organisers have extended the deadline for ticket registrations until March 5th. Yesterday they were getting 1200 online registrations an hour, and there were worries that the high traffice could cause problems.
Wannabe ticket purchasers now have until 12pm on Monday to complete the online form and submit a photo on www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk. As has been stressed by the organisers here, there, and everywhere, registration does not guarantee tickets, but only those registered can apply to buy them, and a non-transferable photopass will be sent out to all successful ticket owners. The scheme is designed to beat touting of the most in-demand festival tickets in the UK.
In other Glastonbury news, some sources are reporting that Shirley Bassey has been approached to perform, alongside Arcade Fire (they're in the thumbnail pic), Arctic Monkeys, The Who, Kaiser Chiefs, and the other major acts already announced.
