A leading network infascructure expert Dan Kaminsky has estimated over 300,000 networks are still affected by the Sony/BMG Extended Copy Protection (XCP) Software. Declinging to state how many he had discovered are US Military and Government networks.
"It is unquestionable that Sony's code has gotten into military and government networks, and not necessarily just U.S. military and government networks," Kaminsky said in an recent interview at ShmooCon.
This is one of many factors that is bringing the increasing degree's of DRM (Digital Rights Management) under government scrutinisation, as individuals and organisations rights come into question up against embattled Media companies protecting their copyright.
