Check it - Electric Gardens, the festival set to take place in Faversham, Kent, for the third year running, has been cancelled.

In a statement on their official website, organisers had this to say:

“It's with great sadness that we can officially announce that due to unforeseen circumstances Electric Gardens 2008 has been cancelled.

“In February a key player in organising the event was taken to hospital with a life threatening illness. With no foreseeable date as to when he will be allowed home, let alone back to work, we have been forced to remove our interests from Electric Gardens and concentrate on our key businesses.

“We look forward to you supporting these which for ClubClass are our club nights mainly revolving around Radio 1's Big Weekend coming to Maidstone this summer and for Lock n Load the SW4 and Get Loaded in The Park festivals on Clapham Common in August.”

There’s currently no word if whether the festival is set to return in 2009.
