There are many reasons to hate Nickelback - and not just because of their awful, awful, awful, awful, awful, awful songs. There's that DFS advert as well.
Anyone unfortunate enough to have caught the video for the sonic hairball that was 'Rockstar' will know that rather than record a video themselves, the band got a bunch of celebrities and some casual joes to lip-sync along. The only positive thing about this was that it meant Chad Kroger's face was on our tellybox less.
Well, hotly-tipped (see what we thought of them at Leeds Festival here) and frustratingly-youthful Floria metal kids, Black Tide, are going down a similar route for the video for their new single, 'Shout'. They want their fans to post video clips of them performing along to 'Shout' on the a YouTube competition group:
http://www.youtube.com/group/ShoutVideoContest
They will the pick the best clips to be in the final video which will debut on www.blacktidemusic.com and www.youtube.com/blacktidemusic on October 1. Your deadline to get you entries in is September 15. Not only will the best make it in to the final cut of the video, but one entrant will win a guitar signed by the band. Plush.
