The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival has extended itself to three days. Might make it the first three day festival (excluding Burning Man) out there stateside. They have also managed to convince the new owners of the polo club to keep the festival on the site.
There was some speculation that the new owners might not like a bunch of festie types on their land, then they went to the festival and realised it wasn't full of festie types.
The promoters Goldenvoice are also kicking off a new country music festival on the same site a week later.
The Country Music festival doesn't have a name, but it has a the beginnings of a lineup: Willie Nelson, George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Sugarland, Lucinda Williams, Sparrow Quarter featuring Bela Fleck, Emmylou Harris and Nickel Creek.
