Bloodsport-fan Bryan Ferry has apologised for remarks he made in an interview with a German newspaper, Welt Am Sonntag, in he which expressed admiration for the artistry of Fascism. What a prick.

With comments like "The way that the Nazis staged themselves and presented themselves, my Lord! I'm talking about the films of Leni Riefenstahl and the buildings of Albert Speer and the mass marches and the flags - just fantastic. Really beautiful", he really did leave himself open to attack.

Now the pro-hunt twit has made a new statement: "I apologise unreservedly for any offence caused by my comments on Nazi iconography, which were solely made from an art history perspective. I, like every right-minded individual, find the Nazi regime, and all it stood for, evil and abhorrent".

This hasn't stopped calls from some quarters for Ferry to be dropped by Marks & Spencer, who are making use of his upper-middle-class lounge-lizard vibe to hawk their products. Personally, I think Ferry  should be ostracised for that awful album of Dylan covers he wretched out earlier in the year. Have you heard it? Sweet Jesus it's bad.

He's also playing at a Pro-Fox Hunting benefit cocert this summer, laughingly called Countryside Rocks. It's being compared by Jeremy Clarkson. And I swear I'm not making this avalanche of awfulness up.
