Brits 2007: The results
Thursday, February 15, 2007
Well, in case you haven’t already had the results shoved down your gullet by some other news source:
British Male Solo Artist James Morrison
British Female Solo Artist Amy Winehouse
British Group Arctic Monkeys
MasterCard British Album Arctic Monkeys
“Whatever people say I am, that’s what I’m not”
British Single Take That “Patience”
British Breakthrough Act Fratellis
British Live Act Muse
International Male Solo Artist Justin Timberlake
International Female Solo Artist Nelly Furtado
International Group The Killers
International Album Killers “Sam’s Town”
International Breakthrough Act Orson
Outstanding Contribution to Music Oasis
Lily Allen was this year’s big “loser”, not picking up any of the four awards she was nominated for – Music Towers reckons she is much more deserving of British Breakthrough than the rather plodding Fratellis. Biggest shock of the night was Orson picking up International Breakthrough Act – ahead of Gnarls Berkeley no less.
Despite the oft-mentioned First-Time-Live-Since-Sam-Fox-And-Mick-Fleetwood-ness of the ceremony, it all went without a hitch. Except Joss Stone. Who not only appears to have acquired the dress sense of a hooker from “Shaft”, but appears to have gone seven shades of batshit as well. Rock, and indeed, roll!
