In an effort to stop tickets for their feverishly-anticipated UK tour, the Arctic Monkeys have implemented a ballot-system for ticket allocation. Considering people were queueing up the night before to buy tickets from the venue for the band's "secret" warm-up shows, there's going to be a lot of demand for these shows.

In order to obtain tickets, fans will have to sign up to the band's online mailing list by 7:00pm tonight. Fans will then be asked to provide their tour date preference and an address to send the tickets to. Only after that will a random selection of people be chosen to order tickets.

How this will ride with people without easy internet access, or stop particularly unscrupulous types from hustling any tickets they win on the ballot anyway, will have to wait to be seen.
