Sony settles tech blunder

The copy protection software Sony/BMG were using last year, was the technology blunder of the year, with hundreds of thousands of people finding that a Virus like bit of software was illegally installed deep onto their computers upon putting a CD from a limited range of Sony/BMG artist in their machine. This opened up peoples systems to a wide array of nasty bugs and viruses.
Several cases have been launched from US states agains the technology giant.
An american judge has approved a settlement that will require Sony to stop using the technology and deliver millions of Downloads to the victims of their purchase in compensation. Sony/BMG has also promised to produce some tools to remove the offending program from peoples computers.
