Last week the European union declared that the merger of two Record company giants Sony & BMG, was annuled and that the companies would have to demerge. The two companies have shed their redundancies and built there house, so that isn't going to happen without a lot of appeals and plenty of foot dragging.

Today the Indies called for the ruling to be enforced and rang alarm bells in the spate of other giant mergers that seem to be happening. In note: BMG Publishing and the possible merger of EMI & Warner. That the music business is rapidly shrinking and the consilidation of these companies would feasably create one super record company before the end of the decade.
