When was the last time you heard an amazing solo? One that made you stand up, put your feet on the chair and just air guitar your sad and sorry little heart out?
'Last Friday' I hear you cry. Good glad of it, now was it a modern band? No! It was likely Guns n Roses, or maybe it was Hendrix. Now we see a lot of Guitars hanging around the neck of people these days. Infact Guitars have had their highest selling year ever! But I am not hearing the timeless solo. Look over at metal you I hear prog twiddling like the 70's have never heard before, I am not hearing the classic solo.
With the decline of our nations single mindset and a failure to find a term beyong postmodernism. Have all the good solos' been used up? Is the Solo is dead, long live the Solo! Maybe more guitars kill classic solo's in the same way Cable TV killed Santa Claus. Someone make a graph.
