Patrick Wolf has backed down from his statement that he was quitting live music. Poor little Patrick has now told Pitchfork that he only meant that he was going to reduce the number of live shows and interviews he will do in future.

Which is funny, because the world, his wife and I all read the message he left on his official messageboard wasn't exactly full of ambiguity. Wolf has also said he only meant his statement to be for his online community, and was shocked that it was reported otherwise.

He's also said he might be working with Alec Empire in the near future. Which is slightly strange as Empire didn't make any mention of that when Music Towers interviewed the ATR man last week. Maybe this is just a breaking development. Although with Patrick's apparent tendancy to backtrack on statements later, who knows?

Wolf's not come out of this whole affair looking good, has he? There's those videos on YouTube about the sacking of the drummer, the "woe is me, I have to work for several hours a day!" moaning, and now this u-turn. Not to mention the rumour mill going on around what happened at the Popworld Pulp launch. If that's true: Shocking!

Word of advice Patrick, put the toys back in the pram and quit with this sissy bitchin'.
