The band’s high-voltage, flirtatious pop is building a buzz on both sides of the Atlantic – and there have been obvious comparisons with Gwen Stefani and the Scissor Sisters.

Music Towers braved Dragonette’s lair and went to meet founders Dan Kurtz and Martina Sorbara to ask if Dragonette would like to go out on a date with us sometime, maybe?

Where would Dragonette like to go on a date?
We want to go to Marrakech, but only because we haven’t been there. If not Morocco then Dragonette would have a boozy night in making dinner.

Would Dragonette like us to bring you a gift?
I want jewels (what on the first date?). Yes. Well, if not jewels then some garden furniture for our back yard for the summer.

Can we take you dancing after dinner?
Yeah, but we’d have had to have had a boozy dinner in first. Then we could go could to a club where there was a 90s night. It would be great to hear Dragonette playing in the club – we could dance to that.

Where’s the best place to listen to Dragonette?
At a club or at a house party at like 1130 before everything starts getting too ugly, just at the peak of getting your buzz on, put on the Dragonette record.

How would Dragonette end the date?
It would end with grilled cheese sandwiches at home and another beer.

Would you come back for coffee?
Coffee, do you mean have a shag or a snog? Hmmm, if coffee can be grilled cheese and a beer yes – it might lead to something.

What’s the worst date Dragonette have ever been on?
We have had five minute dates which were just so wrong we just left. There was one date who insisted on coming to my parents’ house to pick me up and I hid downstairs and pretended I was stuck in a traffic jam and got my Mum to send them away.
