This Sunday August 27th if you not finding yourself in the middle of a muddy feild with the rest of the music towers team trying to balance on your shoulder we suggest heading down to Bakedbeats Lunasa a mini festival full of electro weirdos, bands, djs, static and digi artists in pleasant surroundings, good food, happy faces and it's child friendly. There are a bunch of bands on the list but Boomclick Soundsystem caught our eye, so invited them for a hug.

Who are you?
Rui - We are Boomclick Soundsystem which consists of one part Rui Teimao and one part Rosa Fernandez, gently shaken, slightly stirred and served with Jack Daniels over ice.

Where are you from?
Rui - Portuguese Londoner born and bred.
Rosa - Originally from Burton-on-Trent, but now living in London.

What do you sound like?
Vocal-led epic hip hop ambient drum & bass electronica with lashings of delay.

What got you into making music?
Rui - My dad played saxophone in his youth and my parents both love dancing, so music's been in my blood since I was born. Pre-teen piano and brass lessons (all forgotten now - sorry Mr Breen!) led to my scrimping and saving for my first synth aged 14 so I could one day join Five Star. years of buying kit, playing with funny little bands and losing nights to messing around with music hardware and software set me up to start the original (pre-soundsystem) Boomclick in 1999.

Rosa - I fell into it. My mum sent me to this Community Music thing in Derby. They had no girls so mum volunteered me and I was one of the only people to stay there until it ended. From there I joined a band and the rest is history.

What are your earliest musical memories?
Rui - Brotherhood of Man 'Save All Your Kisses' and the soundtrack to Grease played on a dansette I found in the garage aged about 8.

Rosa - Stealing my mum's Paul Simon album cos I liked it so much.

Whats the best gig you've ever played?
Rui - Ooooh - that's a tough one! BakedBeats is one of our favourite crowds and venues, The Big Chill this year for the fantastic soundsystem, 93ft East last year for the disbelief on the face of everyone in the crowd when they realized the vocals were coming live from a vocalist in the DJ booth. Rosa ended up climbing onto a stool so they could see her...
